Most in-house cable TV systems are a replica or subset of standard commercial cable or satellite TV offerings; but for many facilities there is a need to add private community channels.

Cable TV channel programming is generated by headend equipment and distributed over coaxial wiring to receiving devices such as a TV or set top box.

The in-house TV distribution network carries the channel content from the headend to the receivers. The physical network may be coaxial (coax) wiring, CAT 6 wiring (computer networking), or even wireless.

Expanding or modifying an existing cable TV network may seem as easy as connecting a cable, but often that action can degrade the signal for every TV connected to the network, when it does, you will need to make adjustments.

For facilities (senior living, hospitality, correctional) that have multiple TVs, combining OTA channels with a smart headend can provide significant value.
